Uncut Gems was that rare phenomena, of Adam Sandler starring in a critically acclaimed film. Some of of you may argue he has many acclaimed films, others will say they can count those great films on one hand.
The Safdie Brothers crime drama was an exhausting watch. It was frantic, in your face but mostly Mr Sandler was given heaps of praise for his performance. Even had some critics, fans demanding he should have won the best actor award at The Oscars earlier in the year. He didn’t win however he did win an nomination for his role.
It’s hard to believe myself especially I actually enjoyed the film. That’s a big shock the site has not always been his biggest fan, if anything his biggest critic. His role as cocky New York Jeweller Howard Ratner, suited the actor to the T. A big mouth, that would get him into a lot of trouble was like that perfect role, I won’t go as far as calling the film a ‘masterpiece.’
One thing that stands out in Uncut Gems was it’s language and F-Bombs. Did you know there was 4 F-Bombs a minute, that’s 560 F-Bombs in the film’s 135 minute running time. That’s a hell of lot but did you know it’s on the 4th most in movie history? Netflix Film via their twitter account have released a supercut video with all the F-Bombs in the film, enjoy…
