Lynn + Lucy , a  lifelong friendship is tested by tragedy in this atmospheric and intense first feature from director Fyzal Boulifa. Ahead of it’s Digital Release early next month, BFI have released the film’s UK Trailer.

The film stars newcomer Roxanne Scrimshaw, street-cast for the role of Lynn, her first ever screen appearance, and, as Lucy, Nichola Burley, who was first seen in Dominic Savage’s Love and Hate (for which she was also street-cast) and has since appeared in numerous film and TV productions including Andrea Arnold’s Wuthering Heights.

Fyzal Boulifa, Roxanne Scrimshaw and Nichola Burley have each won awards for their work on the film, at festivals including Marrakech, Macao and Les Arcs, and Boulifa and Scrimshaw were each nominated in the respective Best Newcomer categories at the 2019 BIFA Awards

Lynn and Lucy are life-long best friends, their relationship as intense as any romance. Neither has ventured far from the working-class community they grew up in. Lynn, who married her first boyfriend and whose daughter is fast growing up, is delighted when the charismatic, volatile Lucy has her first baby, a boy. Lucy, however, does not react to motherhood as Lynn expects. Soon, they find their friendship tested in the most extreme circumstances.

The film also stars Kacey Ainsworth, Jordan Long and Jennifer Lee Moon.

Lynn + Lucy will be released by The BFI and they’ll exclusively release the film via The BFI Player from 2nd July. No word if they’ll be a Blu-Ray release for the film, if there is expect it later in 2020.
