It’s been a long time coming and Samuel Goldwyn-Mayer Films have released the Official Trailer for Waiting For The Barbarians.
The film marks Columbian filmmaker Ciro Guerra’s English-language directorial debut. The filmmaker directed the brilliant Embrace The Serpent and for his English debut he has an impressive cast. Mark Rylance, Johnny Depp, Robert Pattinson head the cast in this colonial drama.
The film is based on a J.M. Coetzee novel, focuses on an unnamed magistrate (Rylance). He lives in an unnamed colonial post in a large empire who begins to question his loyalties. Those loyalties are put to the test when the Colonel (Depp) arrives.
Despite the impressive cast this one may struggle to gain an audience. If your waiting for a return to form for Jonny Depp you may have a to wait a big longer. We caught the film at BFI London Film Festival last year, you can read that review going to the link below the trailer…
