In New Antbellum UK Trailer ‘They’ve Waiting For You’

Lionsgate Films have released a third UK Trailer for upcoming Horror, Antebellum. The latest Trailer focuses all on Janelle Monae‘s successful career and family life. She maybe ‘The Future’ but ‘they’ve been waiting for her’!

Veronica Henley (Monae) , a successful business woman who finds herself kidnapped in her car. Only to wake up trapped in 19th Century American Deep South, Antebellum and slavery is still legal. Why and who kidnapped her? How did she get transported to the 19th Century?

Who is the mysterious woman who says Veronica is like no one they’ve seen before? Who is the man we see sitting in the restaurant, smiling and watching her? What is the ‘plan’?

As you know Antebellum means ‘before war’ and the period between American war of Independence and Civil War. When the US became industrialised especially in the North with the south more agriculture. The cotton trade white upper class oppressors and African Americans  segregated and forced into slavery.

With a film focused on 19th Century, it’s terrifying to think racism and abuse still around 2 centuries on. Recent events like the murder  of George Floyd,it’s  a stark reminder racism has no place in 21st Century humanity.

The promotion film has been teasing us like a Jordan Peele social horror thriller. Ironically the team behind those Get Out and US are involved in this one, even though we get more footage we’re still any wiser what this one is exactly about. Our curiosities are so twisted we cannot wait for this!
