Watch ‘Most Iconic Scenes’ Feature For The Graduate

With lockdown still in place for now, us cinefiles will wonder when will we see a new film on the big screen. New releases might be scarce, it doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy whats already out there. It’s times like this when you appreciate why films are called ‘classics’ like The Graduate.

Studiocanal have released this brilliant 17 minute video Feature. They have selected the most iconic scenes from Mike Nichols’ The Graduate starring Dustin Hoffman and Anne Bancroft. Yes folks the video does include THAT Mrs. Robinson scene.

Nominated for 7 Academy Awards and Winner for Best Directing, this groundbreaking film classic launched the career of two-time Oscar Winner Dustin Hoffman. Ben (Hoffman) became the envy of many young men of the time when he is seduced by the sexy Mrs. Robinson (Anne Bancroft). They have an affair, jealousy and anger fuels Mrs Robinson when Ben falls for her daughter.

This is the classic coming of age film, ground-breaking at the time to show an older woman as the seductress. Nowadays nothing unusual, Mrs Robinson would probably be crudely called a ‘MILF’ these days, but she was the original!

Classic films always have at least one iconic scene, that film fans will always remember. The Graduate had many!

Benjamin Braddock (Dustin Hoffman) has just finished college and is already lost in a sea of confusion as he wonders what to do with his life. He returns to his parents’ luxurious Beverly Hills home, where he idles away the summer floating in the pool and brooding in silence. He is rescued from the boredom when he is seduced into a clandestine affair with a middle-aged married friend of his parents, Mrs Robinson (Anne Bancroft). That liaison is soon complicated by Benjamin’s infatuation with her college-age daughter Elaine (Katharine Ross).

Visually imaginative and impeccably acted, with a witty, endlessly quotable script by Calder Willingham and Buck Henry (based on the novel by Charles Webb), with a supporting cast that includes William Daniels, Murray Hamilton, Walter Brooke and Elizabeth Wilson, THE GRADUATE had the kind of cultural impact that comes along only once in a generation.

The Graduate is yours to own now on Blu-Ray.
