Patty Jenkins Plans Four Wonder Woman Films

When Wonder Woman 1984 finally does arrive in cinema it will transport us back to the 1980’s. The film’s director Patty Jenkins is already looking to the future of Diana Prince.

The 2017 Wonder Woman was an unexpected hit, delivering DC their biggest success since Christopher Nolan’s Batman films.  Thus making  the sequel in waiting a much anticipated  follow up.

The director during an interview with TotalFilm, the director shared her plans for the heroine. She revealed  the plans for Four films with one of the films to be a spin-off. That spin-off to be based on the Amazonian Warriors, the mystical land of Themyscira, Diana’s homeland.

There’s an arc that I have in mind for the first movie, and then the second movie, and then the Amazon movie, and then the third movie. I’m not going to direct (the Amazon movie), hopefully,” she smiles. “I’m going to try really hard not to. It’s not going to be easy. But Geoff Johns and I came up with the story, and we sold the pitch, and we’re going to get it going. I’ll produce it, for sure.”

Jenkins did state she would return for the third film, however she will take a longer break.

I think what we don’t want to do is do it back to back. It’s been great doing these two movies back to back, but I think it’s important to give it a little rest in between. And I like doing other things in between. And Gal has other things to do. I never want to make decisions too far in advance. We have to see if we both feel like making the movie we think we want to make when the moment comes.”

I’m not going to nail down a fresh thought about it until this movie comes out, because I kind of want to give myself a palette cleanser.

Warner Bros. Pictures have also released a New Image, which Diana and Steve seem to be somewhere in the Middle East or Northern Africa. Are they running from someone?

This film stars Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Kristen Wiig, Pedro Pascal, Robin Wright, and Connie Nielsen. Wonder Woman 1984 is now hoping it will be released in cinemas from 14th August. Like many things these days that could change.
