Disney Reshuffle Their Slate Including MCU Phase 4

If you had to pick a song that represents what’s going on in film, it would be David Bowie’s Changes. Like many film studios, Disney today have reshuffled there slate once again.  Marvel fans looking forward to Phase 4 unfortunately will need to hang a little longer.

With chances of releasing many films especially the tentpole ones are very slim. So reshuffling films is a must especially keep things in order.

In less than 4 weeks Black Widow solo film was due to be released.  Now it will take the slot that was for The Eternals , 6th November 2020 with that film now set for 12th February 2021. This is moving Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings which will now take the 7th May 2021 release date. The film moving from that date will be Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness‘ which was originally for Thor: Love and Thunder. That will now be released on 18th February 2022, which was down for ‘Untitled Marvel Project’.

Other Marvel titles like Black Panther 2 that will still be set for May 8th, 2022.  Captain Marvel 2 is now  been set for July 8, 2022.

It’s now just the superheroes that are getting new release dates. Other big notable films changing are Mulan, 24th July 2020. That was the date set for Jungle Cruise which is set for a 30th July  2021 release. The long awaited Indiana Jones 5 will now be released 29th July 2022, one year later than planned.

Other films include Ryan Reynold‘s Free Guy has moved from a July release to a  11th December release. Wes Anderson’s The French Dispatch is now leaving it’s Summer release date to the Autumn with 16th October.

Some films at the moment not moving are Steven Spielberg‘s West Side Story still 18th December. Ridley Scott‘s Last Duel will still be released at Christmas. As for films with no release dates Antlers, The New Mutants, Woman In The Window. Could these films be heading to Disney+ despite coming from 20th Century slate?
