Peccadillo Pictures have unveiled the UK Trailer for upcoming indie drama, Monsoon. The film stars Henry Golding (The Gentleman, Crazy Rich Asians) in a film reflection on struggle for identity.
Golding plays a gay British-Vietnamese man Kit, who returns to Vietnam. 30 Years after his nation’s war returning to Saigon which he fled with his family when he was six years old. The city he is more a stranger to, but his journey does open Kit to possible friendship, love and happiness.
The film has been described as “sensitive portrait of cultural displacement.” After a positive festival circuit run in 2019, the film is ready for it’s cinematic release. A visually gorgeous and intimate film is on the cards.

Kit (Henry Golding, Crazy Rich Asians) returns to Ho Chi Minh City for the first time since he was six years old when his family fled the country in the aftermath of the Vietnam-American war. Struggling to make sense of himself in a city he’s no longer familiar with, he embarks on a personal journey across the country that opens up the possibility for friendship, love and happiness.
The film also stars Parker Sawyers, David Tran, and Molly Harris. directed by Cambodian-British filmmaker Hong Khaou, whose last film was Lilting (starring Ben Whishaw).
Due to the current Corona virus pandemic, no UK cinema release has been confirmed. Just expect the film to arrive sometime in late 2020.
