Watch The UK Trailer For Kore-eda Hirokazu’s The Truth

Whilst we know that Korean director Joon Bong-Ho is a master of social class in film. Kore-eda Hirokazu is a master of dissecting the nucleus of the family. Next month the Japanese filmmaker will be returning to the big screen with The Truth. The film marks his first foray into Non Japanese Language territory and Curzon have released the UK Trailer.

If you’re going to do it in style why not get French screen legends Catherine Deneuve and Juliet Binoche. La vérité (the film’s French title), is set around a Mother Daughter relationship. After Fabienne (Deneuve) a actress adored by men publishes her memoir forcing her daughter (Binoche) to return home. What starts as warm reunion, confrontation sparks set off.

Fabienne is a star; a star of French cinema. She reigns amongst men who love and admire her. When she publishes her memoirs, her daughter Lumir returns from New York to Paris with her husband and young child. The reunion between mother and daughter will quickly turn to confrontation: truths will be told, accounts settled, loves and resentments confessed.

For his first feature set outside Japan, Kore-eda Hirokazu unites French screen legends Catherine Deneuve and Juliette Binoche in a powerful and emotional story of family conflict.

The film also stars Ethan Hawke,Ludivine Sagnier, and Roger Van Hool.

The Truth will be in UK Cinemas and on Demand from 20th March. Just before the film is released, on 3rd and 4th March you can catch the film at the Glasgow Film Festival. More Info/Buy Tickets here.
