Frances Hodgson Burnett‘s classic novel, The Secret Garden will arrive in UK Cinemas This April. Today Studiocanal have released the film’s main UK Trailer.

The film marks the 1911 children’s novel latest big screen incarnation since 1993. The film is brought forward in time to a post world war two, on the eve of Partition in India.

The Secret Garden tells the story of Mary Lennox (Dixie Egerickx), born to wealthy parents in India 1940’s. Returning to the UK when her parents suddenly die. She’s sent to live with her Uncle Archibald (Colin Firth), where she begins to uncover family secrets and wonderful secret garden.

A gorgeous looking trailer that pushes more of the fantasy element. Revealing a little more of the plot next to introducing more of the characters. A nice reminder that children’s films don’t always have to be all CGI and spandex heroes…
