Justin Kurzel’s The True History Of The Kelly Gang Gets A UK Trailer

Do you think you know all about Ned Kelly? Watch the UK Trailer for The True History Of The Kelly Gang, you’ll think twice. Picturehouse Entertainment has released the UK Trailer for this demented film that shatters the mythology of Australia’s greatest outlaw!

When it comes to famous outlaws, here in blighty it’s Robin Hood, in Oz it’s bush ranger Ned Kelly. Man of the moment George McKay (1917) stars as the iconic Ned (Orlando Schwerdt the young Ned). Justin Kurzel (Snowtown, MacBeth) directs the film promises to explore the motivations the legend. Hated by the authorities, worshipped by his followers.

Based on Peter Carey’s Man Brooker Prize book of the same name. Ned Kelly is no stranger to the big and small screen with Mick Jagger, Heather Ledger played the outlaw. This looks twisted, raw , tense even funny with a great cast!

Kurzel’s film shatters the mythology of the notorious icon to reveal the essence behind the life of Ned Kelly and in doing so will take audiences on a mesmerizing journey into the ashes of this brutal period in history. Spanning the younger years of Kelly’s life and the events leading up to his death, the film explores the motivations for the demise of this legendary figure. Youth and tragedy collide in the Kelly Gang, and at the beating heart of this tale is the fractured and powerful love story between a mother and a son.

The film will co-star Nicholas Hoult, Essie Davis, Charlie Hunnam, Thomasin McKenzie and Russell Crowe.

The True History Of The Kelly Gang will explode into UK and Irish cinemas on 28 February 2020.
