He is regarded as DC Comics’ ultimate superhero, but what if Superman was raised behind the Red Curtain? In Superman: Red Son, comrade Kal-El keeps the red flag flying high.

Based on DC’s famed Elseworlds tale from 2003, Superman: Red Son takes place in an alternate reality where the spaceship bearing the last survivor of Krypton crash lands not in rural Kansas, but Stalinist Russia. Can this Cold War-era Earth survive the coming of a Soviet Superman?

The alternate story graphic novel was written by Mark Millar (Kick-Ass). Delivering the prospect of Superman fighting capitalism in all it’s ‘ugly’ formations. For some it’s terrifying to think this scenario, but the magic of film we get a glimpse!

Hello to Jason Isaacs who voices the Man Of Steel. Not the first time the Harry Potter/The OA actor has played a Russian Character. Recently, he played Georgy Zhukov in Armando Iannucci‘s The Death of Stalin.

He’s joined by a stellar cast which includes  Diedrich Bader (Lex Luthor), Amy Acker (Lois Lane), Vanessa Marshall (Wonder Woman), Phil Morris (James Olsen).  Paul Williams (Brainiac), Roger Craig Smith (Batman), Sasha Roiz (Hal Jordan), Phil LaMarr (John Stewart), Jim Meskimen (John F. Kennedy), Travis Willingham (Superior Man), William Salyers (Joseph Stalin), and Winter Ave Zoli (Svetlana).

Batman: Killing Joke director Sam Lui has produced and directed this one.
