If the previous Trailer for The Grudge reboot put you off showering, the new one will give you the hebbie jeebies. Today Sony Pictures Releasing have unveiled a UK Red Band Trailer. Which may not reveal any of the plot, it certainly sets the tone of the film.
The Trailer itself essentially an entire scene. In this scene we meet Andrea Riseborough who plays Detective Muldoon. She enters the house of Mrs Matheson (Lin Shaye), a ‘grudged’ home, everything doesn’t look good. When an unkempt Matheson approaches Muldoon, hand in mouth asking to ‘feed her’. From here everything goes south when we realise there might be someone else with them.
After this we get a number of scary scenes, including that shower scene again with Jon Cho.
We’ve been bombarded with remakes for a long time now. So there’s no surprise when another one comes along, even if it’s been already remade. The timing of remakes sometimes frustrate especially ones, the original film not long released or soon after last remake.
Once again there is no synopsis detailing any of the plot. The synopsis that is out states ‘Producer Sam Raimi brings us a twisted new take of the horror classic.’ The rest of the synopsis is the cast and production team details. All you need to know this is a remake of a classic Japanese Horror, with an American twist!
