Starzplay Win Rights To Show DC Universe Doom Patrol in UK

Lionsgate Streaming service Starzplay have announced they have the rights to The Doom Patrol. The DC Universe superhero show scoring high in the US Ratings, This January UK fans to enjoy it too!

Whilst the Todd Phillips Joker film may not be a straightforward DC universe film, it’s given DC hope for their Superhero universe. Marvel have proven some of their characters that TV or Streaming Channels is the perfect home, DC understand this too.

Part support group, most of all Superheroes. Each one suffered horrible accidents that gave them superhuman abilities. They maybe traumatised and downtrodden, the team found purpose through The Chief. Robotman, Negative Man, Elasti-Girl and Crazy Jane, led by modern-day mad scientist Dr. Niles Caulder (The Chief).

Each member of the Doom Patrol has suffered a horrible accident that gave them superhuman abilities, but also left them scarred and disfigured.

Following the mysterious disappearance of The Chief, these reluctant heroes find themselves in a place they never expected to be: called to action by none other than Cyborg, who comes to them with a mission hard to refuse. Part support group, part Super Hero team, the Doom Patrol is a band of superpowered freaks who fight for a world that wants nothing to do with them.

The group of Super Heroes are played by Brendan Fraser(Robotman aka Cliff Steele), Matt Bomer (Negative Man aka Larry Trainor) , April Bowlby (lasti-Woman aka Rita Farr) and Diane Guerrero (Crazy Jane), led by modern-day mad scientist Niles Caulder aka The Chief played by Timothy Dalton .

DC’s most beloved group of super heroes, Doom Patrol, all 15 episodes of the first season will launch on STARZPLAY exclusively in the UK on Thursday, 2th January.
