Olivia Colman Is A ‘Sinner’ In Them That Follow UK Trailer

Repent your sins, Sinners! Just ahead of its UK cinema release this coming Friday, Sony Pictures has released the international Trailer for Them That Follow.

Alice Engelbert stars as a Pastor’s daughter, whose secret threatens to tear apart her father’s religious community. Walter Goggins stars as her father alongside The Queen herself well in Netflix’s The Crown Olivia Colman.

The film also marks the directorial debut for Britt Poulton and Dan Madison Savage. Both described the film as “Our film explores this hidden, and we believe, misunderstood religion. It is an unbiased inquiry into a way of life that many find bewildering, and which we hope to demystify.

Religion is so diverse and if your not from one of the main religions of the world we tend to look at others with deceitful eye. The Pentecostal faith is one of those, some find it hard to make the connection with the snakes.

It’s a slow burning thriller which also seems to have horror elements. A genre we don’t usually see Colman play in and if it’s anything like her previous projects, this maybe something we should check out.

Snake handlers are spiritual renegades belonging to an obscure sect of American Pentecostalism: part of a century-old tradition of worshipping with venomous snakes during church services. Seeing themselves as the vanguards of salvation in a morally bankrupt world, believers put their lives on the line, each and every week, to prove themselves before God. Set deep in the hills of Appalachia, Them That Follow explores this unseen way of life — telling the story of a pastor’s daughter whose forbidden relationship forces her to confront the dangerous traditions of her father’s church.

The film also stars Kaitlyn Dever, Jim Gaffigan, Thomas Mann and Lewis Pullman.

Them That Follow will preach to the UK and Irish flock from Friday 22nd November.
