Vin Diesel Gets ‘Brutal’ In First Bloodshot Trailer

When it comes to comic book movies, it’s not all about Marvel or DC. Valiant Comics Bloodshot in 2020 will make its cinematic debut starring Vin Diesel. Today Sony Pictures Releasing have released the First UK Trailer and things get brutal. That savage your face might get blown off!

Valiant Comics, is an independent comic book publisher. Bloodshot was created in 1992 created by Kevin VanHook, Don Perlin and Bob Layton. First appearing in the last page of Eternal Warrior #4 (1992) then Ral #0 fully a week later. He would get an 110 issue run selling 7.5 million copies!

Vin Diesel will play the titular character, formerly known as Ray Garrison, a former soldier killed in action and brought back to life by a shady corporation. With nanotechnology through his veins he is reanimated, they control his every move. Ray attempts to seek revenge struggling to realise what’s real and what’s not.

To those cinephiles hooked on MCU, they may not know much about this character. 2012 was voted one of the best comic book characters ever. Valiant Comic Universe does have some interesting characters, potentially setting up a film franchise. Harbinger was one of Valiant’s most popular comics but this one has moved to Paramount leaving a potential shared franchise a non starter.

From the trailer this one may just be targeting the slightly older fanbase (at least 15 or even 18 rating). But can it garner same interest, high level of film? Only time will tell…

Based on the bestselling comic book, Vin Diesel stars as Ray Garrison, a soldier recently killed in action and brought back to life as the superhero Bloodshot by the RST corporation. With an army of nanotechnology in his veins, he’s an unstoppable force –stronger than ever and able to heal instantly. But in controlling his body, the company has sway over his mind and memories, too. Now, Ray doesn’t know what’s real and what’s not – but he’s on a mission to find out.

The film cast also includes Eiza Gonzalez, Sam Heughan, Toby Kebbell, and Guy Pearce.

Bloodshot is set for an UK, Ireland and USA release on 21st February 2020.
