Clint Eastwood’s Richard Jewell First Trailer The World Know His Name

Who is Richard Jewell? He may not be a name that will be familiar to you, to many he was considered a hero. After many years stuck in development hell, Clint Eastwood’s true life drama about the man who found the bomb at 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta is close to release.

89 years old Clint is still a very busy man be it behind the lens instead of front of it. Paul Walter Hauser (I,Tonya) stars as the titular character, an security guard at the games. He was considered the prime suspect by the FBI and the media painted him as guilty. All largely thanks to Richard being a lonely single man despite helping the victims. 1 person died, 111 injured.

Today Warner Bros have released the film’s UK Trailer. The trailer itself looks well made and shows off Eastwood’s kinetic filmmaking style. Plenty of tension and what looks an impressive lead role from Hauser…

Directed by Clint Eastwood and based on true events, “Richard Jewell” is a story of what happens when what is reported as fact obscures the truth.

“There is a bomb in Centennial Park. You have thirty minutes.” The world is first introduced to Richard Jewell as the security guard who reports finding the device at the 1996 Atlanta bombing—his report making him a hero whose swift actions save countless lives. But within days, the law enforcement wannabe becomes the FBI’s number one suspect, vilified by press and public alike, his life ripped apart. Reaching out to independent, anti-establishment attorney Watson Bryant, Jewell staunchly professes his innocence. But Bryant finds he is out of his depth as he fights the combined powers of the FBI, GBI and APD to clear his client’s name, while keeping Richard from trusting the very people trying to destroy him.

The film  also stars  Sam Rockwell ,Kathy Bates, Jon Hamm ,and Olivia Wilde.

Richard Jewell doesn’t have an exact UK or Irish release date apart from ‘January 2020‘.
