Next week the 2019 BFI London Festival will kick-off which includes Alejandro LandesMonos. The film has been winning plaudits around the festival circuit since it’s award winning premiere at Sundance Film Festival.

Ahead of it’s UK Premiere, Picturehouse Entertainment have picked up the UK rights to the film and today we have the film’s UK Trailer.

The film delivers an unique perspective of war through the eyes of young adults. Which sees the youthful cast thrown into chaos when they are ambushed in the unforgiving surroundings of the Andes Mountains. The film won’t be for everyone, but if your eager to check out World Cinema, you could do no wrong starting with Alejandro Landes‘ film…

In a remote mountain top setting somewhere in Latin America, arebel group of teenage commandos bearing noms de guerre like Rambo, Smurf, Bigfoot, Wolf and Boom-Boom perform military training exercises while watching over a prisoner (Julianne Nicholson)and a conscripted milk cow for a shadowy force known only as The Organization. After an ambush drives the squadron into the jungle, fracturing their intricate bond, the mission begins to collapse.

Director Alejandro Landes (Porfirio, Cocalero) examines the chaos and fog of war from the unique perspective of adolescence, banding together a diverse young cast of seasoned professionals (including Hannah Montana’s Moisés Arias) and untrained neophytes thrust into an unforgiving, irrational and often surreal environment where anything can happen — even peace.

Monos will play at BFI London Film Festival in the Competition Strand from 4th and 5th October. If you can’t make the festival, the film will receive a 25th October UK Cinema release.
