Rylo Ken Takes On The CIA In UK Trailer For The Report

From the war against the Resistance to War Against Terrorism, Adam Driver stars in The Report. Curzon Artificial Eye have released the UK Trailer as Driver investigates the CIA role in the ‘war’.

Based on actual events, Driver plays US Senate staffer Daniel J.Jones .He is ordered by his boss Senator Dianne Feinstein (Annette Bening) to investigate CIA Detention and Interrogation Program. The explosive findings unearth a government conspiracy, to subvert the law and hide the truth.

It’s a big year for Driver with The Last Skywalker, Marriage Story not forgetting The Dead Don’t Die and The Man Who Killed Don Quixote. Thankfully the actor is getting the credit he deserves, how about an Oscar or two?

The film comes from Scott Z.Burns who made his name as a regular producer for Steven Soderbergh. Soderbergh this time is a producer for Burns full directorial feature debut. The film received its world premiere to critical acclaim at the Sundance Film Festival early this year. Next month will play at Toronto Film Festival.

Following 9/11, the CIA operated ‘enhanced interrogation’, an intelligence programme they claimed was “safe, legal and effective”. In truth what they built was brutal, twisted and incompetent. THE REPORT tells the real-life story of Daniel J. Jones (Adam Driver), a senate staffer who worked for six years with a very small team to reveal that truth, and to hold America’s institutions accountable in the face of cynical politics and fear.

The cast also includes Sarah Goldberg, Michael C. Hall, Douglas Hodge,Ted Levine, Matthew Rhys, Jennifer Morrison, Tim Blake Nelson, Linda Powell, T. Ryder Smith, Corey Stoll, Fajer Kaisi, and Maura Tierney.

The Report will be released in the UK Ireland and the USA on 15th November. As Amazon Studios are releasing this Stateside, Prime UK will release the film on Prime from 29th November.
