Edward Norton’s Crime-Noir Motherless Brooklyn Has A Trailer!

Lionel has a place in this ‘crappy world’ all thanks to Frank…Until he mucked it up. It’s been a long time coming but finally Edward Norton‘s Motherless Brooklyn has a First UK Trailer.

If you ever wondered how ‘passionate’ projects are to actors and filmmakers, is how long they stick with it. Since Jonathan Lethem’s novel was released in 1999, the film’s journey to the screen began in 1999 when Norton saw the cinematic potential. All thanks to its unforgettable central character, Lionel a wannabe private dick who suffers from Tourette’s Syndrome.

The condition is no laughing matter, even if the involuntary sounds tics. In 1950’s New York City Norton looks like he’ll give it a distinctive atmosphere by re-setting the drama in a different era. I do love my Film Noir and Norton has created something exciting. Check it out…

“Motherless Brooklyn” follows Lionel Essrog (Norton), a lonely private detective living with Tourette Syndrome, as he ventures to solve the murder of his mentor and only friend, Frank Minna (Bruce Willis). Armed only with a few clues and the engine of his obsessive mind, Lionel unravels closely guarded secrets that hold the fate of the whole city in the balance. In a mystery that carries him from gin-soaked jazz clubs in Harlem to the hard-edged slums of Brooklyn and, finally, into the gilded halls of New York’s power brokers, Lionel contends with thugs, corruption and the most dangerous man in the city to honor his friend and save the woman who might be his own salvation.

Motherless Brooklyn will arrive in UK and Irish Cinemas (U.S.A 1st November) from 29th November.

The film also stars Bruce Willis, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Bobby Cannavale, Cherry Jones, Michael Kenneth Williams, Leslie Mann, Ethan Suplee, Dallas Roberts, Josh Pais, Robert Ray Wisdom, Fisher Stevens, with Alec Baldwin and Willem Dafoe.
