In Netflix’s Point Blank Trailer Anthony Mackie And Frank Grillo

Not all remakes make  it to the big screen, one of them is Point Blank. Based around little know 2010 French Thriller of the same name (À bout portant) now has a remake and Netflix has released the film’s Trailer.

The original film starred Gilles Lellouche (Little White Lies) and Roschdy Zem (The Cold Light Of Day) now with Anthony Mackie with Frank Grillo. The whole set up is the exact same this time we’re now in the USA (possibly Los Angeles) instead of Paris, France. Mackie plays Paul an ER Nurse on duty attend to an badly injured criminal (Grillo). Paul finds his pregnant girlfriend kidnapped forcing him to team up with the criminal against a group of corrupt cops.

The actual story is very generic though the delivery works nicely. The 2010 film was one of our favourite films and running at only 80 minutes long it went straight into the action. 2019 version is only 6 minutes longer looks to follow similar path. Calling this generic is not really a negative comment as it suits the film genre as well as Netflix being the perfect place for this Netflix Original Film.

The Trailer itself plays on the ‘buddy’ part of the film with a little bit of humour as well as the basics of the film’s plot too.

When his pregnant wife is kidnapped and held as collateral, Paul, an ER nurse, must team with the badly injured career criminal and murder suspect under his charge in order to save the lives of his wife and unborn child. Pitted against rival gangs and a deadly ring of corrupt cops, the unlikely duo find a way to survive together in the fight of their lives. A gritty, action-packed thriller starring Anthony Mackie and Frank Grillo.

The film also stars Marcia Gay Harden, Christian Cooke and Teyonah Parris.

Point Plank will launch on Netflix from 12th July.
