Martin Scorsese’s Bob Dylan Documentary, Rolling Thunder Revue: A Bob Dylan Story now has a release date.
Netflix announced the news, the doc which will be focuses on Dylan’s 1975 Thunder Revue Tour. A tour which saw the iconic folk singer who toured the U.S and Canada for 12 months. Touring smaller venues in smaller cities which hoped for the singer be closer to his fans.
Bob Dylan was joined on the tour with various musicians including Jodi Mitchell, Joan Baez, T-Bone Burnett and Spiders From Mars guitarist Mick Ronson. Film Auteur joined the tour in hope ‘Truth and myth are blurred in Martin Scorsese’s film experience.
The documentary marks Scorsese’s second film with Bob Dylan, with the first being his well received 2005 film No Direction Home. It’s hoped this one will qualify for potential Oscar nomination next year, hence the limited cinema release.

This 14CD, 148-track collection includes all five of Dylan’s full sets from that tour that were professionally recorded, and also provides the listener with an intimate insider’s seat for recently unearthed tour rehearsals at New York’s S.I.R. studios.
