After you watch the brand new second Trailer for Shazam!, the D.C Universe needs to lighten up a bit. After the dark and gritty previous films, next month one of DC’s oldest will unleash his childlike powers. All you have to do is say the magic word!
Director David F Sandberg (Annabelle: Creation) has publically said this film will be a standalone film from other DC Universe films. This is a good move, taking the pressure off a film to link up with previous films. A chance for the film to mature in its own way as its target audience is younger.
If you do want connections, just watch the trailer below, as it’s full of DC Easter Eggs. With ‘appearances’ from some of its finest, well not the way you may think!

We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson’s (Asher Angel) case, by shouting out one word—SHAZAM!—this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult Super Hero Shazam (Zachary Levi), courtesy of an ancient wizard. Still, a kid at heart—inside a ripped, godlike body—Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them! Can he fly? Does he have X-ray vision? Can he shoot lightning out of his hands? Can he skip his social studies test? Shazam sets out to test the limits of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child. But he’ll need to master these powers quickly in order to fight the deadly forces of evil controlled by Dr. Thaddeus Sivana (Mark Strong).
The film stars Zachary Levi, Asher Angel, Mark Strong, Djimon Hounsou, Grace Fulton, Faithe Herman, Ian Chen, Jovan Armand, Cooper Andrews, and Marta Milans.
Shazam! will arrive in the UK ,Ireland and the USA from 5th April 2019.
