The Greatest Showman Still The ‘Greatest’ for first Official Film Chart of 2019

The Greatest Showman keeps a firm hold of the Number 1 spot on the first Official Film Chart of 2019. The official biggest-selling film of 2018 continues its reign for a second week, ahead of previous Number 1 and fellow mammoth musical film, Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again at Number 2.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, Ant-Man And The Wasp fly and Mission: Impossible – Fallout all climb as Skyscraper and Avengers: Infinity War make triumphant returns to the Top 10. Further down the chart, there’s a couple of Top 20 first-timers: A Quiet Place sneaks up to Number 15 and the original iteration of Mary Poppins floats up to 18 following the theatrical release of the sequel.

This week’s Official Film Chart online show features an exclusive teaser of Jack Black in The House with a Clock in its Walls. The magical film is available to download from January 14 and on disc from January 28.

The Greatest Showman took home the crown of the best-selling film of 2018, based on physical and digital sales across the year. In November the Official Film Chart – the world’s first chart to include film downloads – was launched and now we can reveal the Top 40 biggest selling film titles on disc and download combined for 2018.

The Official Film Chart is unveiled each Wednesday and is the subject of a Top 10 Official Film Chart online show, published on OfficialCharts.com and available for media syndication.

The chart – the result of a partnership between the Official Charts Company, the British Association for Screen Entertainment and incorporating data from retailer members of the Entertainment Retailers Association – is published on OfficialCharts.com every Wednesday at noon and counts movie downloads from services including Amazon, iTunes, Sky Store, Virgin Media Store, Rakuten TV, Talk Talk TV, as well as 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD disc sales from all high street and online retailers

You can buy any of the titles featured in the Top 10 via https://www.findanyfilm.com/VideoChart. Check out the full Top 40 chart can be viewed on OfficialCharts.com
