Idris Elba Is Mr DJ in Netflix’s Turn Up Charlie First Images

We love him as Luther, many of us love to see him as the next James Bond, Idris Elba will be a DJ in his next project. If you throw in his directorial feature debut (Yardie) Elba is turning out to be a go-to man for virtually everything. Ahead of it’s March release Netflix has released a selection of first look images for Turn Up Charlie.

Elba plays Charlie a DJ who gets one last chance at the big time after struggling for years. He’s also described as an ‘eternal bachelor’ and ‘Manny’ to best friends daughter. He’s a ladies man and I’m sure many ladies won’t be complaining either!

Turn Up Charlie centres on the titular Charlie (Idris Elba), a struggling DJ and eternal bachelor, who is given a final chance at success when he reluctantly becomes a ‘manny’ to his famous best friend’s problem-child daughter, Gabby (Frankie Hervey). Piper Perabo and JJ Feild co-star. Elba and Gary Reich co-created Turn Up Charlie and will serve as executive producers along with Tristram Shapeero. Shapeero will also direct the series with Matt Lipsey. Martin Joyce and Ana Garanito are co-executive producers. The series is co-produced by Reich’s Brown Eyed Boy Productions and Elba’s Green Door Pictures.

The series also stars Angela Griffin, Guz Khan, Jocelyn Jee Esein, Jade Anouka, Cameron King and Dustin Demri-Burns round out the cast as recurring guest stars.

On Friday, March 15, Idris Elba comes to Netflix in new comedy series Turn Up Charlie
