Watch James Gunn’s Brightburn Trailer A Superhero Horror Story

James Gunn has kept a big secret for quite a few months now. Not the truth behind his sacking from The Guardians Of The Galaxy Volume 3, his next film…Brightburn!

The only clue we had about his upcoming film, it was a horror and tonight Sony Pictures has released the first Trailer. With Marvel releasing new Trailers for their big Phase 4 films and Aquaman about to launch next Friday what better time to launch the Trailer.

This, not A horror I hear you ask? Yes, it is but a horror with a difference, a Horror superhero story. Described as what if Superman’s origin story was a horror one. Horr-origin story?

Gunn is producing with David Yarovesky directing who happens to be a regular collaborator with Gunn. The film star Elizabeth Banks as a mother who finds an extraterrestrial child who crash lands on earth.

Don’t need to be a rocket scientist to know that the basics of Brightburn are also the structure for Superman’s own origins. Be good to see how they the pair handle the iconography with that Horror twist.

What if a child from another world crash-landed on Earth, but instead of becoming a hero to mankind, he proved to be something far more sinister?

With Brightburn, the visionary filmmaker of ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ and ‘Slither’ presents a startling, subversive take on a radical new genre: superhero horror.

Starring Elizabeth Banks, David Denman, Jackson A. Dunn, Matt Jones and Meredith Hagner. Brightburn will open at cinemas across the UK and Ireland on May 24, 2019.
