The time has nearly come to join the Hood. Next month the legend that is Robin Hood will to return to the big screens. No longer are they the ‘men in tights’ or looking like a panto version of Peter Pan. Otto Bathurst‘s version promises a completely different story making the legend an early action hero.
Taron Egerton hasn’t looked back since his big push in the Kingsman, next year he has the small matter of playing Elton John in Rocketman. Before then it’s Robin of Loxley a wartorn Crusader returning home from war, tired and to find a corrupt figure in power. He does have some help in the shape of a Moorish soldier (Jamie Foxx) to help lead his revolt against the Sherriff of Nottingham.
Ahead of next month’s release, Lionsgate Films UK have sent us three electrifying clips. The clips show our war-hardened warrior in training but also in action. That old cliched word from film ‘Gritty’ is one way to describe this film, but the action looks kinetic too.
Hopefully, these guys have watched the dreadful Guy Ritchie King Arthur film and know what direction not to go. On all the trailers and clips we’ve seen so far this one looks more promising. It has one major bonus, it doesn’t have a cameo from David Beckham!
