Watch Stan & Ollie First Trailer Steve Coogan & John C.Reilly Play Comedy Icons

The word icon gets used too easily these days but when it comes to Laurel & Hardy they deserve to be called icons. Ahead of it’s World premiere next month at BFI London Film Festival, Stan & Ollie first Trailer has officially been released!

The legendary icons of comedy are finally getting a film they deserve. This may not be a ‘biopic’ of their complete story, but one that focuses on the duos final UK Tour. A tour of the nations variety halls of 1953 one that was a strain for them due to the hectic schedule.

John C.Reilly and Steve Coogan play the lovable legendary duo, Stan Laurel and Ollie Hardy. The pair ruled the roost in comedy during the golden age of Hollywood. Sharing that limelight with the likes of Buster Keaton, Charlie Chaplin all names that put bums on seats in cinemas. Sadly very few people can do that nowadays, here’s hoping Stan & Ollie deliver something entertaining and deserving.

The true story of Hollywood’s greatest comedy double act, Laurel and Hardy, is brought to the big screen for the first time. Starring Steve Coogan and John C. Reilly as the legendary movie icons, Stan & Ollie is the heart-warming story of what would become the pair’s triumphant farewell tour.

With their golden era long behind them, the pair embark on a variety hall tour of Britain and Ireland. Despite the pressures of a hectic schedule, and with the support of their wives Lucille (Shirley Henderson) and Ida (Nina Arianda) – a formidable double act in their own right – the pair’s love of performing, as well as for each other, endures as they secure their place in the hearts of their adoring public.

Stan & Ollie is directed by Jon S.Baird and will make its world premiere at BFI London Film Festival closing gala on 21st October. Entertainment One will release the film in the UK and Ireland on 11th January 2019.
