The Coen Brothers The Ballad Of Buster Scruggs Western Anthology Gets A Trailer

Yeehaa! Howdy cinephiles! Netflix has released the official Trailer for The Coen Brothers Western Anthology The Ballad Of Buster Scruggs. After years of making cinematic releases like all good filmmakers embrace new trends and technology, now we can add Joel & Ethan Coen to that ever increasing list of directors.

Tim Blake Neilson plays our titular character, what looks like a squeaky clean on the surface. A little bit comic bookish and will piss off everyone. This is a Coen Brothers film it will have its dark humorous edge, oddball characters.

The film has had its ups and downs on how it was going to be released. Originally this was going to be presented as a limited series, only to become a film. Recently to become a six-part series, possibly thanks to the mixed reviews at Venice Film Festival. Now what we understand Netflix will present as the series and full-length film too.

The trailer seems to set the tone of the film which shows the Brothers trademark style will shine through. This looks like share a tone more like O Brother Art Thou? As for this trailer, we don’t get any clues if the stories will be all connected. The focus does seem to be more on James Franco‘s story which seems to have a Clint Eastwood inspiration.

The Ballad of Buster Scruggs is a six-part Western anthology film, a series of tales about the American frontier told through the unique and incomparable voice of Joel and Ethan Coen. Each chapter tells a distinct story about the American West.

The film stars Tyne Daly, James Franco, Brendan Gleeson, Bill Heck, Grainger Hines, Zoe Kazan, Harry Melling, Liam Neeson, Jonjo O’Neill, Chelcie Ross, Saul Rubinek, Tom Waits, Clancy Brown, Jefferson Mays, Stephen Root, Willie Watson.

The Ballad Of Buster Scruggs will be released globally via Netflix with the film getting a select cinematic release on 16th November.
