Late last Night Sony Pictures released the First look at Tom Hanks as Fred Rogers in the Untitled Mister Rogers Film. The film is not due to be released in cinemas Autumn 2019, but they wanted to show off Tom Hanks in the suave knitted cardigan as Fred Rogers.
The name may not be as familiar this side of The Atlantic as he was in The States. The biopic is about Fred Rogers, whom back in the days when all television was virtually safe for children to watch. Fred Rogers was a popular presenter of the child-friendly Mister Rogers Neighbourhood, a man who just wanted to make the world a better place. You could be his neighbour?
There’s was nothing sinister or horrible you could say about Fred. Many actors or presenters like to showcase themselves in a certain persona, Fred was the genuine thing. Don’t expect a standard type of Biopic, but a film that will focus particular meeting. Back in 1998, Rogers met Tom Junod (to be played by Matthew Rhys)a cynical award-winning journalist who disgruntledly wrote a profile on Rogers. After that meeting, it changed his views on life.
