In Damascus Cover UK Trailer Jonathan Rhys Meyers Only Weapon Is His Cover

Munro Films has sent us the UK Trailer for Spy Thriller Damascus Cover with British actor Jonathan Rhys Meyers in lead role. Meyers stars as an Israeli Spy haunted by the death of his son who coaxed back into the spy game. After being assigned new task things go wrong he finds out he’s a pawn a bigger plan. His only weapon will be his cover…

The film centres around an Israeli spy, Ari Ben Zion (Meyers) who is haunted by the death of his son and is recalled to Jerusalem after a failed attempt to bring a mole back to Israel alive. Unsure how many of its operatives have been exposed, the Mossad assigns Ari to smuggle a chemical weapons scientist out of Syria.

While in Damascus, Ari’s loneliness is relieved by Kim (Thirlby), a young American photographer. Within days of his arrival, his mission goes wrong and to survive Ari reaches out to a deep cover agent code-named, The Angel. He soon discovers that he is a pawn in a much bigger plan that will change him forever.

Produced by Hannah Leader, Huw Penalt Jones, Jomon Thomas and Masaaki Tanaka, the film has already garnered critical acclaim awards at the Boston Film Festival & the Manchester Film Festival, including Best Film, Best Director and Best Actor.

Also starring the legendary John Hurt (Alien, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy) in his final role, the film boasts an impressive ensemble cast including; Olivia Thirlby (Juno, Dredd), Navid Negahban (Homeland, American Sniper) and Jurgen Prochnow (Das Boot, Dune). Directed by Daniel Zelik Berk.

Damascus Cover will be released by Munro Films in the UK and Ireland from 3rd August.
