Next Friday, 29th June the sequel to Denis Villeneuve’s Sicario, Sicario 2: Soldado will be in the UK and Irish Cinemas. This time they have taken a low key approach to the film’s marketing which has taken many by surprise. Many weren’t expecting the second film but we’re only 7 days away, we can’t wait!
Whilst Emily Blunt‘s character in the first film was our apparent lead, she’s nowhere to be seen in this one. Josh Brolin and Benicio Del Toro return and both seem to take centre stage. We hope we will get more of a backstory to Del Toro’s Alejandro. He was a very mysterious character and teased he has a lot to tell.
One thing we do know about this film we will be going to ‘War’as Alejandro and Federal Agent Matt Graver (Brolin), go to war against the drug cartels in Mexico. The story of this one and first film do feel very resonant to the USA and Lionsgate Films has created 2 new Featurettes that delve into the upcoming ‘War’…
In Sicario 2: Soldado, the drug war on the US – Mexico border has escalated as the cartels have begun trafficking terrorists across the US border. To fight the war, federal agent Matt Graver (Josh Brolin) reteams with the mercurial Alejandro (Benicio Del Toro).
Sicario 2: Soldado will be released in the UK and Irish cinemas June 29th, 2018. The film is directed by Stefano Sollima (The Gomorrah), also stars Isabela Moner, Jeffrey Donovan, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Catherine Keener and Matthew Modine.Powered by Sidelines
