In Serenity Trailer Anne Hathaway Wants Matthew McConaughey To Kill For Her

Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway reunite for the first time since Interstellar in Steven Knight’s Serenity. Aviron Pictures has released the first Trailer and Hathaway is plotting for McConaughey to Kill for her. Is she a blonde femme fatale or just she has a ‘legitimate’ reason to see him dead?

Steven Knight must be one of the most prolific creators in Hollywood at the moment. Earlier today we gave you The Girl In The Spider’s Web Trailer, based on a script he wrote. He also wrote the likes of Peaky Blinders, Eastern Promises and not forgetting his previous directed films Hummingbird and Locke.

The trailer sets up the film’s premise nicely and we get teased that the premise might not be as straightforward as we believe. This is certainly not a remake of Joss Whedon’s TV Show of the same name but something very sexy but also very sinister.

From the creative mind of Oscar nominee, Steven Knight comes a daringly original, sexy, stylized thriller. Baker Dill (Academy Award winner Matthew McConaughey) is a fishing boat captain leading tours off a tranquil, tropical enclave called Plymouth Island. His quiet life is shattered, however, when his ex-wife Karen (Academy Award winner Anne Hathaway) tracks him down with a desperate plea for help. She begs Dill to save her – and their young son – from her new, violent husband (Jason Clarke) by taking him out to sea on a fishing excursion, only to throw him to the sharks and leave him for dead. Karen’s appearance thrusts Dill back into a life he’d tried to forget, and as he struggles between right and wrong, his world is plunged into a new reality that may not be all that it seems.

The film also stars Jason Clarke, Djimon Hounsou, Jeremy Strong, Diane Lane.

Serenity doesn’t have a UK Release date yet, but for the USA it’s 19th October.
