Craig Robert’s Eternal Beauty is now in production in Wales. The film will shoot for five weeks and will take place in, and around, Cardiff, Newport, and Port Talbot.
The film will star The Shape Of Water star Sally Hawkins. Eternal Beauty tells the story of Jane (Sally Hawkins) is dumped at the altar she has a breakdown and spirals into a chaotic world, where love (both real and imagined) and family relationships collide with both touching and humorous consequences.
With the news announcing the film’s official production, we also found out the cast has expanded too. Doctor Who star Billie Piper and Downton Abbey‘s Penelope Wilton are joining the ever expanding. They are starring alongside Alice Lowe (Prevenge, Sightseers), David Thewlis (Fargo, Wonder Woman, The Theory of Everything, Harry Potter). Other cast members include Bob Pugh (Master and Commander), Rob Aramayo (Game of Thrones), Morfydd Clark (Pride and Prejudice and Zombies) and Paul Hilton (Lady Macbeth).
Eternal Beauty will be Roberts’ second directorial feature after 2015’s Just Jim, which was nominated for a BAFTA Wales award, and the first for his production company Cliff Edge Pictures. Roberts is also set to star in the forthcoming Tolkien biography and has numerous acting credits including Kill Your Friends, 22 Jump Street, Submarine and Amazon’s Red Oaks.
Producer Adrian Bate of Cliff Edge Pictures says: “Eternal Beauty will surprise and delight. It portrays Schizophrenia, a much-misunderstood condition, with dignity, humour, and affection. We are so fortunate to have the chance to work with this amazing cast who will inhabit and enhance Craig’s vision and characters. We are very happy to welcome the new cast additions – the brilliant Billie Piper and Penelope Wilton.”
Bankside Films exclusively represents foreign sales rights for the film, while Endeavour Content and Bankside Films co-represent domestic sales rights. Eternal Beauty is set for a 2019 release.Powered by Sidelines
