Marvel Cinematic Universe might be 10 years old but an even older still is a horror icon and today we celebrate his pending return. Halloween is 40 years old and this ‘Halloween’ Michael Myers will be returning with a brand new remake.
Universal Pictures has unveiled a teaser poster which doesn’t reveal any big revelations apart from Michael Myers himself. Even the monsters of the horror genre get older and this tease shows Myers and you can see the mask has wear and tear.He does have a very familiar face waiting for him, Laurie Strode.
Jamie Lee Curtis returns to her iconic role as Laurie Strode, who comes to her final confrontation with Michael Myers, the masked figure who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago.
We don’t know much about how different this version of Halloween will differ from the original. We assume the slasher side of the film will still be there. We’re asked to forget all the sequels that came after the original film as this will be a revisionist version. Will it be a ‘revenge’ film with Laurie coming after Michael? As we know Laurie will have her own family around her, will Michael go for them to get to her?
David Gordon Green (Pineapple Express, Joe) is directing this reboot/sequel in a script co-written with Danny McBride. Original creator and director John Carpenter is also onboard as an executive producer. When Green approached Carpenter about their idea he was so impressed he came on board the project. There’s also rumours Carpenter may also create the score for the film too!
David Gordon Green‘s Halloween will be released in the UK, Ireland and The USA from Friday, October 19, 2018. The film will star Judy Greer, Will Patton, Nick Castle, Andi Matichak, Omar J. Dorsey.Powered by Sidelines
