WWE Fastlane 2018 Preview

The final stop before Wrestlemania 34: WWE Fastlane 2018. The Smackdown Live! exclusive PPV emulates live from the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio. Here is a preview for WWE Fastlane 2018

WWE Fastlane 2018 Preview

AJ Styles (c) VS. John Cena VS. Kevin Owens VS. Sami Zayn VS Baron Corbin VS. Dolph Ziggler: Six-Pack Challenge for the WWE Championship

A six-pack challenge for the WWE Championship will display Smackdown’s top superstars. While the odds are stacked against AJ Styles, the obvious outcome of Styles retaining remains in-sight.

However this bout could potentially contribute to the build towards Wrestlemania, for feuds elsewhere. This past Tuesday, Sami Zayn pinned Kevin Owens, seemingly turning on his friend and perhaps planting the seeds in another feud. As for Dolph Ziggler, he is rumored to be facing Shane McMahon at Wrestlemania, so we shall see where that commences.

As for Baron Corbin, his ‘Mania status is unclear but in good time there is no doubt it will become clear.

AJ Styles VS Shinsuke Nakamura at Wrestlemania 34 looks all but set to happen. Therefore, I am going for a victory for AJ Styles.

Prediction: AJ Styles to retain the WWE Championship.

Bobby Roode (c) VS. Randy Orton: WWE United States Championship

An interesting contest between two veterans, as the WWE United States Championship is on the line.

Randy Orton has never been WWE United States Champion, so this is a unique opportunity for the viper. Also, coming up against Bobby Roode shall make for a potentially great match, as their styles and personalities create an interesting dynamic.

Jinder Mahal has been in the mix for the US Champion, however he is not in the match. But we could potentially see Mahal pop up at some point.

As for the match, I have Bobby Roode retaining the WWE United States Championship.

Prediction: Bobby Roode to defeat Randy Orton & retain the WWE United States Championship.

The Usos (c) VS. The New Day: WWE Smackdown Live! Tag Team Championships

Once again, The Usos take on The New Day for the WWE Smackdown Live! Tag Team Championships.

The two teams feuded for some time for last year, so one could expect a routine bout. The Usos have been tag team champions for a while now, so a change would not go a miss, especially at this point on the road to Wrestlemania.

So with this in mind, I am with The New Day winning the WWE Smackdown Live! Tag Team Championships.

Prediction: The New Day to defeat The Usos to win the WWE Smackdown Live! Tag Team Championships.

Charlotte (c) VS. Ruby Riott: WWE Smackdown Live! Women’s Championship

Ruby Riott receives here first title shot in WWE, against Charlotte at WWE Fastlane tonight.

In recent weeks it has been rumored that Charlotte shall face Asuka at Wrestlemania 34. Therefore with this in mind a title change is not expected. None the less this is a good opportunity for Riott to showcase her ability on a PPV.

My prediction is Charlotte defeating Ruby Riott to retain the WWE Smackdown Live! Women’s Championship.

Prediction: Charlotte to defeat Ruby Riott to retain the WWE Smackdown Live! Women’s Championship.

Shinsuke Nakamura VS. Rusev

IT’S RUSEV DAY! However, it comes at the expense of a rampant Shinsuke Nakamura on his road to Wrestlemania 34.

There is not too much to say about this match, other than it is seemingly filler for Nakamura to which will allow him to gain momentum. If anything it would have been more ideal to keep Nakamura off the card.

Prediction: Shinsuke Nakamura to defeat Rusev.

Becky Lynch & Naomi VS. Natalya & Carmella

It is great to see the women’s division being showcased in a tag team match. Also the team of Becky Lynch and Naomi is an exciting prospect.

All four women and their statutes for Wretlemania are unknown, so with this in mind this match could potentially has some implications for ‘Mania.

As for the bout, I’ve got Becky Lynch and Naomi defeating Natalya and Carmella.

Prediction: Becky Lynch & Naomi to defeat Natalya & Carmella.
