Internet Myth Comes ‘Alive’ In First Slender Man Trailer

The internet is full of wonderful, sometimes creepy things and creepypasta’s meme Slender Man was one of them. The internet myth had been around for a very long time but recently gained more notoriety after 2 12-year-old girls claimed the myth told them to kill someone. The legend has grown in stature amongst the horror community since it’s creation in 2009, now it will finally get its own movie.

After several delayed attempts this May the movie will finally be released and today Sony Pictures has released the first UK Trailer. The terror of children will walk the tropes of the horror genre leaving us with sleepless nights.

Whilst this trailer may not reveal a lot of scenes, it does reveal they are ready to play on the scare meter. But will this still have the cahoonies to scare us?

Can You see Him? Watch the first Trailer and find out but beware he’ll get in your head like a virus!

In a small town in Massachusetts, four high school girls perform a ritual in an attempt to debunk the lore of SLENDER MAN. When one of the girls goes mysteriously missing, they begin to suspect that she is, in fact, HIS latest victim.

It’s hard at this stage to know if this movie will be inspired by the events of the 2 young children who coaxed their friend into a forest to kill them. If anything it may just but also seems they have the rights to take their own creative authority. When Eric Knudsen (aka Victor Surge) created his creature would he believe it would be a cultural phenomenon 9 years later?

Slender Man will be released in the UK, Ireland, and the USA on 18th May 2018. Starring Joey King, Julia Goldani-Telles, Jaz Sinclair, Annalise Basso, and Javier Botet. The Losers Sylvain White directs.
