La La Land gave cinephiles the hunger for more musicals on our big screens and 20th Century Fox in December will grant that wish. The Greatest Showman promises to chronicle the remarkable rags to riches story of P.T. Barnum, played by Hugh Jackman.
Today we have a trio of new Featurettes that will take us behind the scenes of the upcoming musical that takes a sneak peek into the development of the film. As you’ll see it’s been a long road and one with many hurdles
Episode one of the series gives us a glimpse into getting the project off the ground whilst episode two sees the cast, which includes Hugh Jackman, Zac Efron, Michelle Williams and Zendaya, get stuck in to 10 weeks of rehearsals.
In the final featurette, Academy and Tony Award-winners Pasek & Paul talk about writing the music that powers the film; a mix of theatre and pop described by director Michael Gracey as “the best work they have ever done…”
