“How do we get ahead of crazy if we don’t know how crazy thinks?”
This Friday Netflix will take their viewers to a very dark place in Mindhunter into the mind of a killer. The psycho Killers the cops must get into, to create a profile. Ahead of that launch we have one final trailer which teases FBI Agents Ford and Tench pushing the boundaries, in the name of science…and justice
In MINDHUNTER, FBI agents Holden Ford (Jonathan Groff) and Bill Tench (Holt McCallany) study the damaged psyches of serial killers in an attempt to understand and catch them, and in the process pioneer the development of modern serial killer profiling.
When you have the likes of David Fincher onboard as executive producer (director of the first episode too) you know this show will go to dark places. ‘Boundaries’ is his middle name.
When you want to dig deep into those killers minds you sometimes have to understand why and what made them do it. You could say this was the FBI’s first steps to preemptive divisions which today want to create. Terrifying stuff to think prisons could soon be filled with people who were soon to commit a crime. This all harks back to Steven Spielberg’s underrated Minority Report, so are killers born? or simply formed?
Mindhunter is in a way looking at the ‘real life’ Silence Of The Lambs and Jonathan Groff‘s Holden Ford is the same character once played by Scott Glen and Laurence Fishburne in Hannibal.
