The Raw exclusive pay-per-view No Mercy comes your way this Sunday at midnight on the
WWE Network live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.
WWE No Mercy 2017 Preview
In the night’s main event, Brock Lesnar will defend his WWE Universal Championship against The Monster Amongst Men, Braun Strowman. So far Strowman has proved to be too much for The Beast to handle, but will that continue this Sunday?
In a first-time-ever battle, John Cena will collide with Roman Reigns. The war of words will finally end, but which franchise player will come out on top?
Elsewhere on the card, Alexa Bliss will put her Raw Women’s Championship on the line against four other superstars in a Fatal Five Way match. Can Bliss hold onto her title against all the odds or will we crown a new champion at No Mercy?
Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins look to hold onto their Raw Tag Team Championship when they take on the former champions Cesaro and Sheamus in a highly-anticipated SummerSlam rematch. Will the former Shield brothers remain on top of the tag team world or will The Bar raise their level one more time?
Finn Balor and Bray Wyatt look to settle their dispute once and for all. Without his Demon persona, is Balor really a match for The Eater of Worlds?
Enzo Amore gets his shot at Neville and the Cruiserweight Championship. Neville calls himself The King, but has Amore got the tools to take away his crown?
And with the Intercontinental Championship on the line, Jason Jordan looks to emulate his Hall
of Fame father Kurt Angle by winning the prestigious title and shutting up The Miz. Will Jordan
finally achieve success on Raw or will The Miz prove too crafty for the newcomer?
All will be revealed this Sunday, but for what it’s worth here are our predictions for the aforementioned bouts.
Brock Lesnar VS Braun Strowman: WWE Universal Championship
Now is the time to go all in on Braun Strowman. He is the most destructive force in all of WWE,
and he needs to leave No Mercy as the new Universal Champion.
Strowman has become arguably the most popular superstar in all of WWE, and he has decimated Brock Lesnar on every single occasion the two have collided. The timing couldn’t be more perfect either.
Lesnar is expected to take a sabbatical from WWE until the new year to pursue UFC goals. The Beast
Incarnate has finally met his match with Strowman, but he is still the most protected star in the business, and there will be some controversy involved.
Expect Paul Heyman to be the centre of it all. How it all goes down is a mystery, but Strowman will leave with the gold.
Prediction: Braun Strowman def. Brock Lesnar to become the new WWE Universal Champion.
Roman Reigns VS John Cena
John Cena usually loses these big-time first-ever matches. Look to his previous battles with The Rock and AJ Styles for evidence of that. Roman Reigns is the present and future of WWE and he needs to come out on top in this one.
There is no other outcome that makes Roman look good. Cena has to put his ego to one side and do the right thing. Reigns will prevail, and he may even get some cheers for doing so.
Okay, maybe not, but the fans are slowly coming around to The Big Dog. There’s no way we won’t see these two clash again after this Sunday, that’s for sure. There’s way too much money in it for WWE to only do it once.
These two seem destined to headline a WrestleMania together. But that’s then, this is now. Roman comes out on top.
Prediction: Roman Reigns def. John Cena.
Alexa Bliss VS Nia Jax VS Emma VS Bayley VS Sasha Banks: Fatal Five-Way For The WWE RAW Women’s Championship
There have been a total of 10 title changes in just 14 months in the Raw women’s division. That is way too much and dilutes everything they are trying to achieve.
However, Alexa Bliss has been a tremendous champion and it’s high time WWE stop the hot potato style of booking and give her a long reign on top. Emma is the obvious choice to suffer the pinfall loss. Sasha Banks can’t afford another high-profile loss, Nia Jax losing makes no sense, same goes for Bayley, who has just returned from injury.
The next champion will undoubtedly be Nia Jax, but that can wait.
Prediction: Alexa Bliss def. Bayley, Emma, Nia Jax and Sasha Banks in a Fatal Five Way Match to retain the Raw Women’s Championship.
Dean Ambrose & Seth Rollins VS Cesaro & Sheamus: WWE RAW Tag Team Champions
Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins have been tremendous together since reuniting a couple of months back.
They have always had great chemistry together. Their careers seemed to be stalling this past year, but since joining forces they have breathed new life into their characters.
Will we ever see Roman Reigns link up with them too for a full-blown Shield reunion? The smart money would be on yes, but the big money is in a heel Ambrose turn when the fans least suspect it.
Cesaro and Sheamus have been fun together, but there’s no way they are taking the titles away from the former Shield brothers.
Prediction: Dean Ambrose & Seth Rollins def. Cesaro & Shamus to retain the Raw Tag Team Championship.
Finn Balor VS Bray Wyatt
If recent history tells us anything it’s that no superstar wins two pay-per-view matches in a row against the same opponent.
With that being said, Finn Balor came out on top at SummerSlam, so logic would suggest Bray Wyatt goes over here. WWE want Finn Balor to be their top babyface on the red brand, and he will ultimately win this feud but he will just come up short in this one.
The Demon King is still likely to challenge for the Universal Championship at the turn of the year, where that leaves Bray Wyatt is anyone’s guess.
Prediction: Bray Wyatt def. Finn Balor.
The Miz VS Jason Jordan: WWE Intercontinental Championship
If WWE decide to give Jason Jordan the title already the fans may turn on him even more. To avoid that happening they should allow for a long chase for Jordan and see how the WWE Universe react to it.
So far they haven’t warmed to Jordan, and that’s because his character his nondescript. Apart from being Kurt Angle’s son (in storyline), what else do we know about him? Besides, The Miz is too good at being the cocky champion to dethrone him just yet. Let this rivalry develop.
Have The Miz win it thanks to a timely distraction from his Miztourage and a roll-up.
Prediction: The Miz def. Jason Jordan to retain the Intercontinental Championship.
Neville VS Enzo Amore: WWE Cruiserweight Championship
Enzo Amore has made a career out of talking a big game only to miserably fail come bell time. That won’t be changing here.
There is more chance of Liverpool winning the Premier League title than Neville dropping the gold. Minus a six-day spell without the title, Neville has held the Championship since the Royal Rumble in January. That is impressive.
Prediction: Neville def. Enzo Amore to retain the Cruiserweight Championship.
