Terminator Franchise to some might be the Movie franchise that refuses to say enough is enough. When things look like they have hit a brick wall a new movie comes back at you like a T1000. Living up to one of his most famous taglines Arnold Schwarzenegger will be back for Terminator 6, Hasta La Vista Baby.
After the dismal result of Terminator: Genisys critically and at the Box office making it hard to believe that was meant to be a reboot. The big Austrian star did his best to distance himself from the movie however, he’s back and so is James Cameron.
Earlier this year it was announced a new trilogy is about to be made with Deadpool director Tim Miller to direct the first movie. Cameron will be onboard as a producer and be mentoring Miller and it seems March 2018 production will kick off for a 2019 release date. The actor mentioned this during an interview with Austrian Magazine Kleine Zeitung via The Playlist “In March next year, I am shooting Terminator 6, James Cameron and David Ellison are back on board and then comes a Conan.”
Thankfully that Genisys trilogy has now been killed off and possibly another spin but this time Cameron hinting on a more simpler story. Right away it seems Terminator 6 will be the title and a promise that “‘Terminator’ Franchise Will Give Fans What They’ve Wanted Since T2”. That doesn’t say much especially this has been a franchise that has already given similar promises and failing to deliver.
At the same time, Arnie talked about Terminator 6, the Austrian actor mentioned this won’t be the only old movies he’s returning too. In the same interview, he mentioned the Twins sequel Triplets, will see him reunite with Danny Devito with Eddie Murphy jumping on board too. This movie he will be shooting this Autumn.
The 70 year old actor is also hoping to return to the franchise that he made his name with, Conan The Barbarian. Despite script writer Chris Morgan stating that movie ‘legend Of Conan‘ was dead in the water, like Terminator it may return. It was meant to be an Unforgiven style movie but like many movies, that idea may change or even still be dead in the water. Busy times for the ageing actor.
