The Game Has Evolved In First Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle Trailer

22 years ago the late great Robin Williams took us on a fun fantasy adventure when a board game came alive in Jumanji. 2017 we go back to that world in Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle where the game has evolved. Evolved that now the traditional board game has been replaced by the modern video game, this time the humans go to the gaming world.Who needs James Cameron’s ‘Avatar’ when we have Dwayne Johnson, Karen Gillan, Jack Black and Kevin Hart as Avatars? It’s all fun and games, get ready for a ride to Smackdown Hotel, watch the first UK/International trailer courtesy of Sony Pictures, la la la laaaa…

For months we’ve been teased online especially from Johnson’s shenanigans in social media, the first teaser trailer is finally here. It’s a ‘reboot’ with a twist that’s still life and death situations for our characters, here’s hoping they can honour Williams too. The trailer sets the basic narratives with Jock, Nerd, a rocking girl finding their inner teenager. After those months of waiting will cinephiles still be interested or will this be another meaningless reboot which potentially targeted audience have no clue or interest in the 1995 original?

In the brand new adventure Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, the tables are turned as four teenagers in detention are sucked into the world of Jumanji. When they discover an old video game console with a game they’ve never heard of, they are immediately thrust into the game’s jungle setting, into the bodies of their avatars, played by Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart, and Karen Gillan. What they discover is that you don’t just play Jumanji –Jumanji plays you. They’ll have to go on the most dangerous adventure of their lives, or they’ll be stuck in the game forever…

Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle is ready to go retro video game style with the UK and Irish Cinephiles This December (USA 22nd December). The movie also stars Nick Jonas.
