The Summer blockbuster season door is slowly opening further as June edges closer and in 6 weeks time Spider-Man: Homecoming will be swinging into our Cinemas. Today Sony Pictures has released a brand new UK trailer which shows this will be a tech-driven movie. Peter Parker wants to grow up and maybe New York will need him to especially as we Michael Keaton‘s Vulture gets more screen time as his true motivations are teased…
He maybe still a ‘kid’ but we do get a sense of the ambitions of our young titular hero, keeping things low key starting petty crime. If you get new equipment like a new uniform it’s always wise to learn the full potential when the big boys come knocking! We do get glimpses of new footage and even a ‘vlog’ of which shows the web slingers intro into the MCU with Captain America: Civil War. But who is Donald Glover‘s character’s name? We do get teased but could he be Miles Morales?
Thankfully after seeing the truly awful American poster, Sony have released a more respectable UK poster.
A young Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Tom Holland), who made his sensational debut in Captain America: Civil War, begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging superhero in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Thrilled by his experience with the Avengers, Peter returns home, where he lives with his Aunt May (Marisa Tomei), under the watchful eye of his new mentor Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.). Peter tries to fall back into his normal daily routine – distracted by thoughts of proving himself to be more than just your friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man – but when the Vulture (Michael Keaton) emerges as a new villain, everything that Peter holds most important will be threatened.
Spiderman: Homecoming is set for a slightly earlier release of 5th July 2017 UK&Irish cinema Release with Zendaya, Bokeem Woodbine, Donald Glover, Martin Starr, Tony Revolori, Michael Barbieri, and Angourie Rice co-starring.
