New Cars 3 UK Trailer Tease Lightning McQueen V Jackson Storm Rivalry

When your movie franchise is based talking vehicles that love to race, there was always going to be rivalry and Cars 3 showcases that in new UK Trailer. The latest trailer for Disney-Pixar’s animation teases the rivalry between Lightning McQueen (Owen Wilson) and Jackson Storm (voiced by Armie Hammer). Things get very intense as the now veteran McQueen must face the new younger speedier model, will he retire or step up to the challenge?

They say you can never teach an old dog new tricks. But when you’re been goaded, overtook by the new ‘rookie sensation’ you’ll do anything, This trailer is all about that new Kid (or Car)on the block. Lightning McQueen, however, is the wheels of experience and he’s one car whose ready to learn those new tricks for one last run at the glory. It’s On!

Blindsided by a new generation of blazing-fast racers, the legendary Lightning McQueen (voice of Owen Wilson) is suddenly pushed out of the sport he loves. To get back in the game, he will need the help of an eager young race technician, Cruz Ramirez, with her own plan to win, plus inspiration from the late Fabulous Hudson Hornet and a few unexpected turns. Proving that #95 isn’t through yet will test the heart of a champion on Piston Cup Racing’s biggest stage!

After the disappointment of Cars 2, this trailer gives us a sense of ‘comeback time’ type of trailer which is great and John Lasseter promised plenty of emotion. This promo teases Lightning’s comeback against the new kids but potentially the comeback that has the spirit of the first movie which critically this franchise needs. It’s darker in tone too. After 11 years since the first movie, the original audience is grown up, will this movie attract a new audience or simply the same audience looking for nostalgia?

Cars 3 will drive into UK and Irish cinemas from 14th July. The voice cast includes Cristela Alonzo, Cruz Ramirez, Bonnie Hunt, Tony Shalhoub, Paul Dooley, Cheech Marin, Katherine Helmond, Larry the Cable Guy, Angel Oquendo, and Darrell Waltrip.
