Kingsman: The Golden Circle First Trailer Action Packed, Teases Colin Firth’s Return

Harry Potter, Star Wars, Lord Of The Rings even Star Trek have all proven there’s an expansive world out there richly full of history to deliver sequels, spin-offs. Kingsman may have split cinephiles views but it gave the Spy sub-genre a uniquely anarchic twist and now we have Kingsman: The Golden Circle.

Not due to be released until September 20th Century Fox Pictures have sent us the movies first UK Trailer which shows off the ‘American equivalent’ of The Kingsmen, The Statesman. The upcoming sequel may have a bulging list of Hollywood A-Listers, it’s still quintessentially British, violent, goofy and crazy as the first movie!

It looks business as usual for Eggsy (Taron Egerton) and he’s doing it in his own ruthless way with his mentor Merlin (Mark Strong)backing him. The trailer does tease one thing about Eggsy’s original mentor Harry Hart (Colin Firth), may not be dead after all, but is it Harry or someone else?

Kingsman: The Secret Service introduced the world to Kingsman – an independent, international intelligence agency operating at the highest level of discretion, whose ultimate goal is to keep the world safe. In Kingsman: The Golden Circle, our heroes face a new challenge. When their headquarters are destroyed and the world is held hostage, their journey leads them to the discovery of an allied spy organisation in the US called Statesman, dating back to the day they were both founded. In a new adventure that tests their agents’ strength and wits to the limit, these two elite secret organisations band together to defeat a ruthless common enemy, in order to save the world, something that’s becoming a bit of a habit for Eggsy

Don’t expect much of the movie’s plot to be revealed in this trailer, with a little more sombre approach with high octane slipped in. Sporting an eye patch we do see Harry, however, we do know he was coming back in some form, this could easily be a flashback. There’s also to say The Kingsmen’s ‘new allies’ Stateman may work side by side, like James Bond we know sometimes they didn’t always support Bond. Are we sold on this? The answer is yes!

Kingsman: The Golden Circle will arrive in the UK, Ireland and USA on 22nd September and will star Julianne Moore, Halle Berry, Pedro Pascal, with Channing Tatum, and Jeff Bridges.
