This Sunday former allies collide, as Bray Wyatt defends his WWE Championship against Randy Orton at Wrestlemania 33. Here is a preview for their bout at Wrestlemania this Sunday.
After Randy Orton joined The Wyatt Family, their dominance on Smackdown LIVE! began. Also not only were the duo terrorizing Smackdown, but they even picked up a huge win at WWE Survivor Series in the traditional elimination match. Then they captured the WWE Smackdown Live! Tag Team Champions at WWE TLC in December.
However animosity brewed when the Wyatt’s lose their Tag Titles to American Alpha, as Luke Harper was essentially deemed the weak link and exiled from the family. Orton went onto to win the 2017 Royal Rumble Match, earning a place in the main even at Wrestlemania 33.
At WWE Elimination Chamber Bray Wyatt won his first WWE Championship. However Orton refused to face Bray, calling him his master. But they don’t call him the Viper for no reason, as it was all a ruse. As Orton burned down the Wyatt compound, leading to this point. A feud of trust and betrayal.
While their feud has been great to watch, one can only prosper a solid contest between the two. Randy Orton is a well versed veteran who has main-evented Wrestlemania before. On the other hand Bray Wyatt is a competitor who has seemingly been underused by WWE in the past few years, however perhaps ‘Mania is the time for his prominence to come to fruition.
Regarding the outcome of the bout one has to wonder; What implications shall be in effect for either superstar? Lets weigh them up……….
The face of fear is at the top of the mountain. Current WWE Champion Bray Wyatt has the potential to be a great reigning champion on Smackdown LIVE! So with this in mind there is little wonder as to why so many want him to retain the title. If Bray Wyatt retains this Sunday against Randy Orton, then WWE should consider allowing Wyatt to run with the title. This is because Bray Wyatt is long overdue a serious push. In addition to this he is due a title run with some serious momentum, which would ultimately compliment his hard work in the past three years. IF Bray Wyatt retains the WWE Champion this Sunday, WWE (in an ideal world) should finally let Wyatt top the card for a while.
A former multiple time WWE Champion himself, Randy Orton is an ideal opponent for Bray Wyatt. Especially if it is to ensure Wyatt reaches the next level, Orton is a well suited veteran. However one can open up and believe Orton does not need another title reign. Therefore I believe that IF he wins at Wrestlemania, it will not benefit either star. Overall I believe that the rub of Randy Orton for Bray Wyatt shall provide Wyatt a much needed boost.
Okay call me crazy if you want, I am going with Bray Wyatt to retain. Why? because in my opinion it would be more logical for WWE to allow Wyatt to beat Randy Orton at Wrestlemania, then go on to foresee a strong reign as WWE Champion.
Prediction: Bray Wyatt to defeat Randy Orton & Retain the WWE Championship
