After nearly 4 years off our cinema screens, Edgar Wright‘s return Baby Driver is action packed, plus it’s a change of direction too as well. After years of comedic collaborations with Simon Pegg, Nick Frost with Cornetto Trilogy then and Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World. Ahead of the movie’s world premiere at SXSW Film Festival today Sony Pictures have released the blistering first UK Trailer, this Summer, all you need is one killer track!

He may not make a movie every one to two years, but when Edgar Wright does make a movie many cinephiles pay attention. This will open many folks eyes and has he created a unique music laden movie experience with our young driver listening to the soundtrack to cut out his tinnitus?

In Baby Driver, A talented, young getaway driver (Ansel Elgort) relies on the beat of his personal soundtrack to be the best in the game. When he meets the girl of his dreams (Lily James), Baby sees a chance to ditch his criminal life and make a clean getaway. But after being coerced into working for a crime boss (Kevin Spacey), he must face the music when a doomed heist threatens his life, love and freedom.

As expected Wright’s narrative looks tight, the visual aesthetic is fantastic, trademark Wright, but has his knack of teasing in trailer slipped a little here? If it has it will only be a minor complaint by showing a little too much. It may not be a comedy but the humour you expect from the British director is here and will keep hardcore fans happy. We’re digging the new direction which has nods to Driver, Getaway Driver with some well-executed car scenes and a music score to compliment the movie. Believe it or not, as we write this the movie has played and the word is good!

Baby Driver is set for an 11th August UK &Irish release date and co-stars Jon Bernthal, Eiza González, Jon Hamm, and Jamie Foxx.
