John Carpenter-esque The Void Dares You To Watch New Trailer

Some calling it a tribute to John Carpenter and they wouldn’t be far off, another said it was a ‘freak of nature’. Everything we’ve been hearing about The Void has been spot and soon you can experience the mind-bending horror that promises ‘a unique horror mythology’. One that hopes to combine the aesthetic of 1970’s horror with the FX seen in 1980’s creature features. This looks like a love letter to John Carpenter written in an H.P Lovecraftian style, now let’s get cosmic and watch the new UK trailer. Will you watch behind a pillow or a loved one, we dare you!

We were disappointed The Void didn’t get a festival screening at last month’s Glasgow Film Festival, perfect movie to play on Horror Channel’s mediocre first day of Frightfest. A throwback to 1980’s horror with The Thing clearly a big inspiration to the Canadian indie. It’s a movie we’ve been looking forward too for a long time and now we’re only weeks away from it’s UK release.

Prepare for a fresh slice of terror from the warped imaginations of VFX and design masters Steven Kostanski and Jeremy Gillespie. The Void is a highly anticipated new horror following a series of successful and prestigious festival appearances. Encountering a blood-soaked man on a dark deserted road, a police officer rushes the victim to the local hospital. Soon the staff and patients are trapped by a terrifying, otherworldly threat and forced on a hellish voyage into the depths of the building to escape the nightmare.

The Void stars Ellen Wong (Scott Pilgrim vs the World), Kathleen Munroe (Alphas), Aaron Poole (Forsaken) Kenneth Welsh (The Aviator) and Daniel Fathers. Written and directed by Jeremy Gillespie and Steven Kostanski.

Signature Entertainment presents The Void at UK cinemas from 31st March on Digital 7th April and DVD & Blu-ray on 24th April. You can buy tickets, see cinemas showing the movie here (oh please screen the movie in Glasgow!)
