Beware Cold War Berlin any double crossing traitors, this girl is licensed to kill….
This maybe the restricted version of the trailer but there’s enough grittiness, sexiness and ass-kicking if your missing Mad Max’s Furiosa she’s back, but not the way you think, step up Lorraine Broughton.
The crown jewel of Her Majesty’s Secret Intelligence Service, Agent Lorraine Broughton (Oscar® winner Charlize Theron) is equal parts spycraft, sensuality and savagery, willing to deploy any of her skills to stay alive on her impossible mission. Sent alone into Berlin to deliver a priceless dossier out of the destabilised city, she partners with embedded station chief David Percival (James McAvoy) to navigate her way through the deadliest game of spies.
She may be shaken but she’s not stirred and that short opening scene shows that Chad Stahelski wasn’t the only one with the action chops in John Wick. The action prowess is bone crushing and Theron doesn’t look out of place either. David is an ex-stuntman and he knows his way around the mechanics of an action scene which was a winning formula for the Wick movies. This does feel 2 movies an action movie and an espionage thriller, it will be interesting to see how the movie goes at SXSW Film Festival this weekend. One thing we can agree on, Charlize Theron is a Killer Queen.
Atomic Blonde is set for 11th August UK &Irish cinema release and co-stars John Goodman, Til Schweiger, Eddie Marsan, Sofia Boutella and Toby Jones.
