Captain Underpants Gets First UK Trailer Trah Lah Lah!

Is it a bird? No! Is It a plane? No! Is It Superman? NO! It’s Captain Underpants Trah Lah Lah! Hold on to your pants as Dreamworks Animation releases the first UK trailer for our underwear wearing animated superhero, and on first impressions, it’s not ‘pants’. It actually looks pretty funny, check it out…

Based on the very popular Children’s books by Dav Pilkey get the animated treatment, a movie that will bring pleasure not just to those cheeky little brats, but their parents too. Well, at least dad!

In Captain Underpants: The Epic First Movie, Kevin Hart and Thomas Middleditch voice our leading gruesome twosome George Beard and Harold Hutchins. Best of friends but also misbehaving kids who just love to play jokes on their teachers at school. The pair is always making stuff to make them laugh including comic books and when the pair finally gets sent to the office of their fun crushing principal (Ed Helms). They Hypnotise him into their comic book character creation, Captain Underpants, Trah Lah Lah!

When you can get this 40 something to laugh at an animation or any adult, you know you’re onto a winner here. The humour is cheeky possibly a little leaning toward ‘toilet’ side of laughs which kids will love. Think Horrid Henry with naughtier laughs. The movie is a satirical look at the superheroes subgenre and making fun of it, this has epic high flying stunts, big battles and an evil villain confrontation too. The boys may be making fun of their principal but looks like they may need Captain Underpants to save the world. A “cool new teacher, not some scary guy with a secret evil agenda” arrives, Professor Poopypants. But does the captain have the skills to defeat Poopypants? If Dreamworks pulls this one off they will have a new franchise on their hands as there are 12 books in total ready to be adapted, Trah Lah Lah!

Captain Underpants is set to unleash his first epic movie in UK & Ireland this July, co-starring the voice talents of Jordan Peele, Nick Kroll, Kristen Schaal.
